At present we offer safe camping facilities at an uncrowded, peaceful site nestled among native forest and accessed by a well-formed private road. We also offer all-season tours to our private glow-worm dell in the forest and seasonal tours to view the rare and spectacular Westland petrel (a seabird related to the albatross) up close in their breeding colony on our land. Our conservation work means that the dawn chorus you will enjoy from your campsite is worth waking early for. Great Spotted kiwi inhabit the surrounding forest and may be heard calling at night.
Accommodation: $10 per adult per night/$5 per child.
We have no EFTPOS. Cash payment is the best option, otherwise payment online if you have a NZ bank account.
Glow worm tours: $15 per adult camp guest, $20 for visitors not staying at the camp. $5 per child. Please call ahead to ensure that tours will be available during your visit.
Westland petrel colony tours: Please contact us for availability and prices.
Location: We are 5 km south of Punakaiki’s Pancake Rocks (map here) and 40 km north of Greymouth.
Facilities: We provide camping for tents, parking for vehicles, as well as non-flush toilets, water, a basic kitchen area, free wifi and picnic tables.
